The National Library is dedicated to respecting the privacy of users visiting the website palacrzeczypospolitej.pl (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”). The data collected in the logs are used only for the purposes of administering the Website.

DATA COLLECTION

The Website does not automatically collect any information except for the information contained in cookie files.

The Website uses two basic types of cookies: “session cookies” and “persistent cookies”. Session cookies are temporary files that are stored on the User’s end device until they log out, leave the website or exit the software (web browser). Persistent cookies are stored on the User’s end device for the time specified in the cookie file parameters, or until the User deletes them.

The content of cookies does not allow the user to be identified. No processing or storage of the personal data of Website users occurs as a result of the use of cookies.

Website Users may change their cookie settings at any time. In particular, these settings can be changed in such a way as to block the automatic placement of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform the User each time they are placed on the User’s device. Placing restrictions on the use of cookies may affect some of the functionalities available on the Website.

The entities placing and accessing cookies on the User’s end device are the National Library and Google.

COOKIE MECHANISM

Cookie files (“cookies”) are IT data, in particular text files, that are stored on the end device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) of the User and are intended to enable the use of the pages of the Website. Cookies usually contain the name of the website they come from, the length of time they are stored on the end device, and a unique number.

USE OF DATA

Cookie files are used by the National Library only for the purpose of:
 • creating statistics to help the National Library understand how Website Users use the web pages, thereby improving the improvement of their structure and content
 • maintaining the Website User’s session
 • changing the appearance of elements of the Website

Based on information obtained on the Website, the National Library may prepare summary statistics. These may be made available to third parties. Such lists, however, do not contain any data allowing the identification of individual users.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

This Website may include buttons, tools or content that link to services provided by other companies, including social network plugins (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Google+), maps (Google Maps) and videos (YouTube). Use of these applications may result in the transfer of information about users to the abovementioned third parties.
