Summer in the city project: workshops at the Palace of Commonwealth

July and August saw the National Library joining the Warsaw’s Summer in the city project. In a series of free-of-charge educational and art workshops, the Palace of Commonwealth was visited by almost 400 children and the youth from Warsaw schools.

The participants had a chance to learn the reach history of the Palace and its collections. The programme included, among others, themed workshops like the Legends from Polish chronicles, Old Polish libraries, Exotic Chinese plants, Ptolemy maps, Treasures of Polish language, Handicraft of time or Frederic Chopin’s visiting card.

Workshops, ran by the Natonal Library’s staff and tailored to the age and interests of participants, attracted a lot of interest. The National Library plans further such sessions in autumn – please kindly follow our website!
